Angelo Pisciottano - Committee Member. Angelo was born and raised in Toronto. He graduated from York University in 1993 with a degree in Political Science. In 1991 he formed his own company, Pisan Corporation(incorporation pending). Angelo's goal with this company is to assist inboth commercial and residential applications of both audio and video. He joined the AES Toronto Section in 1991 and became a Committee Member in1995. In volunteering his time to the AES, Angelo has been able to understand the innovations and goals of advanced audio sound. His majorgoal with his company at this time, is to develop a standard type of home theatre for all types of venues incorporating video, audio and computers. His company is also looking into developing new innovations that will help advance the fields of audio, video and computers. Angelo is also involved with other organizations setting standards in both audio and video into the next millennium.

Devy Breda - Committee Member. Devy has many years experience in sound system contracting. His company, Audiospec Inc. of Mississauga, is now in its tenth year of operation. He is a Certified Engineering Technician; graduating from George Brown College with a diploma in Acoustics.

Right after graduating in the early 80's, Devy got his hands dirty in audio installations while working with another contractor. Shortly thereafter he made the move into sales. Audiospec Inc. was established in 1987, and in the last few years the company has really matured. He thoroughly enjoys audio systems design and installation, and after many years of hard work, Devy says that his chosen career in audio has been rewarding in many ways (and sometimes even fun).

Devy is also a member of the NSCA, the Toronto Construction Association, the Mississauga Board of Trade and the Canadian Italian Professional Business Association. He plans to continue contributing to the AES Toronto Section as a Committee Member.

J. H. (Jim) Hayward - Committee Member. From early childhood, Jim has had a strong interest in music and electronics. While in his teens, Jim was an enthusiastic member of school orchestras and town bands. During this time, Jim also studied piano, string bass and euphonium; but he devoted his weekends to amateur radio and audio oriented construction projects. In 1966, he graduated from Ryerson as an Electronic Technologist, married his high school sweetheart and joined Bell Canada's "Young Managers" program. Over his 28 years at Bell, Jim managed Special Services Engineering and Operations groups in areas including CATV, Data Communications and Radio Systems. On the side, Jim designed and built a sound reinforcement system for a church hall, maintained a high quality home audio system, operated an effective amateur radio station and helped his wife raise their five children.

Since retiring from Bell in 1994, Jim has started his own consulting company, Hayward Electronics, and has been teaching electronics at Radio College of Canada. He has also been very busy writing and editing for various audio related journals including articles for "Andrew Marshall's Audio Ideas Guide" magazine and editing an AES white paper on using Toroidal Transformers for Tube Amplifiers. Jim also assisted in editing a book on the same subject for European audio expert Menno van der Veen, all the while maintaining contact with the creative minds in the audio community.

Doug McClement - Committee Member. Doug is originally from Kingston, Ontario. While in high school, he played in bands and worked weekends in a stereo store. During his time at Queen's University, Doug combined these two interests and set up a four track recording studio in his parents' basement, recording demos for local songwriters and bands. After graduating with an Honours Bachelor of Commerce Degree in 1975,Doug moved to Toronto and established Comfort Sound Recording Studio, which he operated until 1994.

He is currently President and Chief Remote Engineer for Live Wire Remote Recorders, a 48 track mobile specializing in audio recording for television music specials, awards shows, telethons, radio broadcasts and live CDs. Doug has engineered over 1300 remotes since 1975, including concerts in all ten Canadian provinces, as well as in the USA, Germany, Spain, Jamaica, Israel and Kuwait.

Credits include The Rolling Stones, Joni Mitchell, Oscar Peterson, Bryan Adams, Garth Brooks, Liona Boyd, Ozzy Osbourne and Billy Graham. Doug has received platinum albums for engineering "Diamond Mine" and "Five Days In July" for Blue Rodeo and Moxy Fruvous' "Bargainville". He has also been twice nominated for a Gemini for Best Sound in a Variety Television Special.

Doug has been a member of the Audio Engineering Society since 1974 and holds the position of Committee Member on this year's Executive. He also belongs to the World Studio Group and is Director of the Producing/Engineering Program at Harris Institute for the Arts in Toronto.

Lee White - Publisher of the Newsletter. After studying at the Ontario College of Art, Lee began his career as a furniture and interior designer. In the early '60s, a growing demand for cabinets to hide "hi fidelity" components led to an interest in electronics. His company, The Pringle Group, developed into a national distributor of consumer electronics. It now sells and services audio test software and hardware. Lee designs and presents audio workshops, and provides technical writing services including documentation and manuals. He is currently collaborating on the design of an audio level monitor for broadcast and studio applications.
