Toronto AES BulletinMeeting PreviewMar 1997 |
In the professional audio community there is growing momentum toward a new standard for digital audio: 24 bit wordlength and a 96 kHz sampling rate. What are the benefits of this new standard, who are the players involved, what products are available or are expected soon? Is this movement for real?!
Steve Lee of Canorus Inc will be on hand to answer our questions. Steve will bring along a number of 24-bit/96 kHz recordings made by various engineers in different venues. We'll also hear three recordings of the same 15 ips Dolby SR master: one done with a 20-bit/44.1 "Brand X" ADC, a second with a dCS at 24-bit/44.1 and a third using the same ADC, but switched to 24-bit/96 kHz, all with carefully matched levels.
Don't miss this chance to listen and learn about what may be the future of high end audio.
